Jack & Mark's Birthday

Happy Birthday to my youngest nephew & my loving husband. Jack's birthday was on Saturday and Mark's on Sunday. Ella, I would have to say, was completely pooped after playing with all the kiddos at Jack's party on Saturday. Scott helped me organize a golf outing for Mark on Sunday morning for Mark's birthday. I supplied the snacks & drinks for them. Think he had a good time even though he came in second to last place (only because Scott's brother in law only played 9 holes) anyway a good time was had by all and then got a yummy (momo chicken & beach bum cake) dinner before driving back to the Ville.

Priceless

So all of my old U of L basketball buddies decided last week that we need to all go out to eat for a girls night out. We finally did it last night and have decided to commit to doing it once a month for our sanity and our mommy night out. Although is was good to see everyone and talk stories the majority of them were of course about our kids. We talked about potties and bowel movements and eating habits, etc but I think Alison's story about Travis "T-Bone" Egan takes the cake. If you didn't know Alison is expecting her fourth child in October and Travis, her second child, came up to her and kept poking her in the boob. Finally she asked "Travis what are you doing?" "I'm touching the baby" and she said "honey the baby is down her (pointing to her belly)." And he says "well aren't those his feet (her boobs)." Love it!!

Saving Lives

I organized a blood drive at my work this past Tuesday and I am proud to say that it was a great success!!! American Red Cross set my donation numbers at 40 and I was hoping to blow it out of the water. I was able to get 48 people to sign up to donate but only 31 could donate. It was scary the amount of deferrals we had because of high blood pressure and people who had lived in Germany in the 1980's (mad cow) but of course it was not as scary as the 2 people who passed out. One guy before even giving blood (when they pricked his finger) and one after he gave blood. That's right everyone all the people who got dizzy or passed out were all men. I guess that is why God gave the gift of child birth to women. Our 31 pints of blood means we saved 93 lives!!!!!

Zoo Trip - July 18, 2009

The weather in Louisville was absolutely gorgeous last weekend so we decided to make a family trip to the zoo. It's been a while since Ella has been and she is talking about animals more so thought she might take better to it. Probably a little to young still. We knew we where going to have a time limit so we got there right when it opened and lasted exactly what I thought - 2 hours. After eating our picnic lunch she lasted maybe another 30 minutes and she was ready to go home.

Ella was more interested in the fence than the elephants.

Although she did like the camels - weird?

Ella's new friends.

The gorillas where very active today but I think she liked this one better, it even let her pet it (it's in the gift shop)

This is after lunch and before we started melt down mode, she was done with the stroller and holding hands and was wiggling back and forth laughing at Mark behind me that's when I knew I was down with the zoo. We got back out to the car where Mark had to clean some kind of poo of the stroller wheels and she was asleep right after we left the parking lot.

July 4, 2009

So I had Friday off before 4th of July weekend and Mark had the Monday following off, so Ella & I spent Friday together which was wonderful. She was up and at bright and early so we played, ate breakfast and took a very long walk before lunch. When Mark got home we headed up to Cleveland for the weekend. She did not sleep well at all up there at night. But she played her little heart out and ate tons of yummy food. Going up again to Cleveland the weekend of July 24th for the start of the wedding festivities for Aunt Teresa!!

Pacifier

If you haven't heard - yes it's gone!!! Last Wednesday I picked her up from Elaine's and she was sleeping with it so it went home with us and I ended up having to throw it away because there was some stuff inside of it so I boiled up some of her old ones from home so she could take a new one to daycare. Her old was white and the new one she took is purple. She wouldn't take it and kept trying to give it to Alley at daycare because Alley's is purple. So Elaine gave it to me to for home. Took away all of her pacifiers and put the purple one on her night stand and she didn't take it. So we have been almost a week with out it!!! Let's be honest I was horified of taking it away because of the Jack pacifier story. Kristin said he screamed mommy and I was not looking forward to that situation at our house. Good job baby girl!!!!

Just because she's cute
