Mini-Vacation

Mark and I decided to take a 3 day weekend so we could get up to the lake early for a long weekend. We arrived around 12:30 am on Thursday night and had 3 days of absolute gorgeous weather. Everything was perfect. Ella played her little heart out back and forth from the sandbox to the pool with a little mischief in between of course. We went on several boat rides, swimming and Ella enjoyed her 2nd jet ski ride. I say second because the first was not so successful. Mark got weeds and had to bring her right back which was probably a good thing since she was not very happy. The 2nd one was much better, the initial separation from momma was sad for her but then she was smiling and waving to me. Think we got a lake girl!!! All days we got 2 naps out of her because of all the outdoor activities. The only exception was Saturday night she woke what felt like every 30 minutes. She ended up in bed with us and around 5:00 I decided to change her diaper maybe that would help. Lot of pee and that just woke her up even more because she was laying between us patting our faces saying "momma & dada." Around 6:15 had enough and took her to the living room where my wonderful mother took over so I could try and get a couple hours of sleep. She was able to walk her around and rock her to sleep for another hour. Mark thought the problem might have been because we are all in the same room. Now we think it might be ear infections again because Elaine just texted me and said she woke up 15 minutes into her nap screaming. Appointment set for 4:00 pm to get them checked out. We'll see if they discuss tubes yet....

Father's Day Weekend

Mark, Geoff, Josh & Jon

Happy Father's day to my husband, my dad & my father in law!!! Mark hopefully had a very relaxing weekend. Friday night we watched a movie. Ok, I should rephrase that, Mark watched the movie because I of course like most times fell asleep. Ella & I gave Mark his father's day gift on Saturday...a massage at Z's Salon & Spa. He came home completely relaxed and told me thanks for picking the package where the masseuse was naked. Funny honey....not that kind of spa. Saturday we had lots of friends over for a cookout and the kids played like crazy in the backyard. We had gotten Ella a little pool and they went from the pool to the sandbox, over and over again. Sunday we were competely lazy until we went over to the Suski's for dinner. We didn't get home until around 9:30 and Ella did ok until around 9:00 (1 hour past bedtime). I did take pics over the weekend - I'll have to get Mark to add them tonight!!

Not our child

So yesterday she did it. Ella bit Elaine. I spoke to Elaine this morning and she said that Ella also bit herself. She as almost every missing tooth poking through her gums so we have got to be close to being done with teething. Gonna stop that right away - don't want our child to be the biter!!!

June 12 - 14, 2009

What a weekend. We stayed home on Friday and the Padget's came over and the kids got to play for a couple of hours in the backyard. No big issues or fits. Saturday, Ella and I went and ran errands while Mark mowed the lawn after his 7 mile bike ride with Jason. Saturday night we went over to the McBarnette's for a cookout. Ella played pin ball with her head on their woodwork inside the house and slowly showed signs of a meltdown when it rounded 8 o'clock. Mark dropped Ella and I off at the house and he went back to hang out for a while. She went right to sleep and slept until 9:00. Yesterday oh yesterday....my daughter is rapidly approaching her terrible two's. Every time I corrected her or asked her to wait a minute or no she proceeded to throw the biggest hissy. Funny how it is though...I never saw any tears. She was throwing one right has I was trying to finish up dinner and I looked at Mark and said "ready to have another baby honey?" He just gave me a look like - are you crazy! So for all your wondering minds out there, yes we are waiting a bit longer.

Ella and all of her buddies got to play in a swimming pool yesterday at Elaine's. I got a picture on my cell phone and it is looks like they are having so much fun. She took an extra long nap afterward (which is always a bonus). Last night after dinner I gave her a bath right after dinner so we could go take a walk with the wagon. We went a little farther than usual, so at one point Mark had her on his shoulders then I had to hold her. It is hard enough pulling 30+ pounds in a wagon but when you have to carry 30+ pounds of sleeping baby it definitely feels more like 60 pounds!! Wore the little girl out and mommy got her workout in at the same time.

Happy Anniversary G-ma & G-pa

Congratulations to my grandparents, Bob & Elda, on 60 years of marriage!! We drove up to Indianapolis on Sunday, June 7th, to have dinner at the Rathskeller with the whole family. Food was delicious, Ella was a little stinker though. She wouldn't sit still and was the very fussy. That is probably an understatement. She did look adorable though!!!

When we got home we changed clothes and went to play outside until she started throwing sand. We had to close up the sandbox because little Brody was over.

Ella & Jackson

Friday Mark and I were just going to rent a movie and have some popcorn after Ella went to bed but the Padget's called and said come on over and we can let the kids run and wear each other out. That is exactly what they did. Saturday we had a repeat performance.

Taking a milk break on the window sill

Kate & Mark pushing the kids down the slip & slide. Ella actually did it a couple times then started to freak as noticed in this picture.

Ella & Jackson going on a bike ride. I told Jackson before they left that he needed to take care of Ella because she might get scared because she had never been on a bike ride before. Cute little guy held her hand the entire time. Ella eventually fell asleep and Jackson kept holding her hand. Mark said at one point he had one hand on top & bottom of Ella's.

Cleveland, OH

Ella made the big trip up to Cleveland 2 weeks ago. She did really well until we stopped for gas. Of course the gas station was lit up like a Christmas tree and she woke up and stayed up until we got to Chris & Matt's house. Although that description sounds much to pleasant because I failed to mention her screaming at least for the last 30 minutes. Mark's whole family came over on Saturday for a cookout which was nice for everyone to see & play with Ella. She took good naps all weekend because she was so tired from playing and running. We'll try for the grandkids photo next time.
