Biting Boyfriend

So the new dilemma...her boyfriend bites and not a little cute nibble because I love you, he has been chomping on my baby. Yesterday Elaine had to call his parents to come and get him.

Problem: parents are not correcting him at home. Solution: Smack the parents.

No really he is not just biting Ella, but all the kids and the mom told Elaine that Jacob bit her on the leg 3 times the night before. What is wrong with this picture? Make him stop, come on!! He should understand the word no by now, Ella does.

Girls Weekend

So Mark went to Atlanta for a big guys weekend and Ella and I were left to party by ourselves. We kept pretty busy all weekend. Friday night Trista came over so I could have an hour to myself at the grocery. Prior to leaving I got Ella ready for bed and poor thing had the worst diaper rash I have ever seen. We called "The Master" to find out any additional remedies for this (sorry Aunt Kristin for screaming in your ear - love Ella). I barely touched her and she screamed bloody murder and basically cried herself to sleep. After that excitement I was off to the store. The only good thing about going at this time is that there is nobody there but then usually there is only one lane open for checkout so I decided to go through the self-check. BAD IDEA!!! Never again I would rather wait in a line 10 people deep before doing the self-check again. I think a little message popped up after I scanned every other item saying "wait for attendant." When I got home I must have been very energetic or still pissed off from the checkout because I cleaned 3 packages of chicken and divided it up for freezing and reorganized the pantry so I could find everything.

I called the pediatrician on Saturday morning and asked if there was a magical butt cream. There solution and it seems to be working so far:

- no wipes, should use a soft paper towel with baby oil on it
- after clean put antibiotic ointment
- then put Vaseline on it

She has the slickest butt I have ever seen, but it worked!! I signed Ella up for a FREE class at Gymboree also on Saturday. She ran around and played her little heart out for the 45 minute class. Towards the end she had enough. I'm sure that is why their classes only last 45 minutes. She had just fallen asleep in the car when we got home so she of course woke up when I got her out of the car. After lunch she took a 3 hour nap. Of yes everyone that is not a typo and it is a first and loved every minute of it. I know I should have gotten everything done but my lazy butt sat and dozed on the couch. It was wonderful for both of us. The best part was that she still went to be at 8:00 like usual.

Sunday we just bummed around and played outside. We did have to make an emergency run to Target because we had an injury/death in the family. One of Ella's babies is missing some limbs. The other one is starting to smell also. So we had to purchase a new family member. She held the box through the entire store.

Mark got home real late last night and bought Ella and I both some new shoes from the Nike outlet on his way back.

I saw Mark cringe the other night when he looked at the Easter background on the blog. This is a little less in your face.

Long Night

It's official Ella said grandma last night!! We went for a walk since it was so nice outside again and then Ella devoured some meatballs from our soup and played her little heart out. Until that is until around 12:00 - 1:30, when she was screaming bloody murder. I went to get her and settle her down and she did not have a fever nor anything stinky or wet in her diaper. We rocked in the rocking chair and I was able to put her back to bed. Mark snored through the entire thing!! The other night I couldn't help but laugh at the both of them. I was baking cookies and Mark was passed out on the couch snoring and Ella was snoring on the monitor. She may have inherited a little of the snoring from both sides of the family. This picture was from about 2 weeks ago.

Warm Weather Tease

We have had absolutely wonderful weather the past 2 days in Louisville. Temps in the mid 70's. So since it was so nice out last night right after work we took Ella for a walk in her wagon over to the park and she had so much fun. There was a group of guys playing soccer next to the playground and she kept turning around and saying "ball." She is also very much into waving & blowing kisses this week!! I know it's just a tease though because it's supposed to rain tonight and temperatures will drop again.

March 13-15

We had a very busy weekend at our house. Friday my friend Trista invited me to go to Cirque Du Soleil at Freedom Hall. She was able to get tickets through her work and asked me on a date. It was a lot of fun. When we got there they forced us upstairs to the hospitality suite where they had quite the spread & bar then our seats where right up front and in the middle. Afterwards an artist was going to come and talk to our group but baby Brody was kicking up a storm so we left right after the show.

While I was out having fun Jason & Jackson came over to see Mark and Ella. Ella didn't go to bed until almost 9:00 pm. Mark said they chased each other from the living room to the kitchen about 100 times. Mark said Ella finally came over to him around 9:00 and just looked at him with these tired, weepy eyes that basically said "I'm done and I can't go anymore."

We went Saturday morning to go and get Ella's pictures taken. I believe one is the toughest age to get them to sit still for a picture. We managed to still get some good ones - was there ever any doubt - she is the cutest!!

Yesterday Jason & Jackson came over again and I got to witness first hand the excitement with those two. Jackson has taught Ella how to make noise - they were both screaming running back and forth chasing each other. I'm glad they can play so well together.

Sippy Cup Transition/Time Change

We have made another milestone in my book - we have switched from the Nuby Sippy Cup (the ones with the nipples) to a regular sippy cup with a stopper. The spill at Mark & Cindi's this weekend will be the last unless we have some type of malfunction with the new cups.

Was a little afraid for the time change and how that would affect Ella's sleeping patterns yesterday. We had no problems she slept until 9:00 yesterday morning and took 2 really good naps and in bed at 8. That could also be contributed to playing so hard at her cousins house on Saturday with all her cousins!! But she is her mothers daughter - we love sleep, food & clothes!!

Consigment

Why am I addicted to consignment? I am obsessed with finding the deals at consignment and tis the season. Everyone in Louisville are having massive children consignment sales. Trista and I went to one this past Friday and we are going to one tomorrow night and then there is one every weekend for the rest of the month. It is so much fun to find the bargain because the majority of the outfits I'm getting still have the original sale tags on them and then I'm getting them at consignment price. Maybe this is why I have no clothes and my daughter is dressed to kill!
